Help!

I've got a nokia 3250 and it's being a complete b*tch.

When I goto send an sms (plain text) when I click on send it will hang for about a minute before going back to the previous menu. I've tired restoring the factory settings option and cleared my inbox/drafts/folders/sent items and outbox so there is no issue with the amount of free space.

Does anyone know if there's a way of doing a complete wipe od the phone to it's 'out of box' state?

Any help appreciated. Cheers!

restoring factory settings "should" return it to its out of box condition.

has it been subjected to any knocks/liquids etc?

No and no.

All the factory settings seem to have changed are the appearences and shit like that.

I'm talking more it will wipe your phone when you do the re-set. My old nokia could re-install itself. Seems this 'brick' is a piece of shit.

taken from another forum so try at your own risk:

- Normal Reset (*#7780#) : Restores ini files from rom but preserves user data (photos, 3rd party apps etc)
- Deep Reset (*#7370#) : This reformats completely the C: drive. All applications and files stored on this drive will be lost and clean default files will be rewritten.

In both case, the phone will ask you a confirmation and you will have to enter a security code (12345 by default).

Files and applications stored on E: drive are not be affected by these sequences.

For Symbian OS 7 and higher there is a third method:
Turn phone off, press and hold the green (talk) key on the left + number 3 on the keypad + the * key and then turn the phone back on.

The phone will start the formatting process without confirmation!
Files and applications stored on E: drive are not be affected by this.

YAY! Karma cookie for you my friend. The third option worked beautifully!

Thanks so much for you help!

I did try the nokia site and carphone warehouse. But they were as unhelpful as and unhelpful thing!

Thanks again!
