how do i dl youtube vids?

You can use a capture programs, like "fraps" for example, to literally rip the image from the screen.

But as for downloading the videos off youtube to your harddrive.. nope, they are converted to Flash. It's a great marketing gimmick if you think about it..

If someone says "hey i saw a really cool vid on youtube the other day"

"Oh yeah can you send me it"

"no you have to go to the site."

It gets them more hits, so it's more profitable for them.

You can get something to download flash from a site, I got loads of stuff off miniclip with it, just had a look on my drive and can't find it, but its probably called flash downloader

They are not converted to flash, as i tried using a flash ripper. They are simply videos embedded into flash, but you dont know the url of the video.

If you use firefox, you can download something to save off youtube.
