Yesterday my mate dragged out his GSXR-1100 which he has owned from new (even the bolts still have the little bits of yellow marker paint on). Don't think its ever seen water either (just 'Mr Sheen') Laughing

Thought I'd grab a few pics as I had my camera handy. The original bad-muvva motorcycle! Cool

I think most put them on so the brake fluid doesn't come over the top, i think it looks fucking stupid though.

You'd have to make that the Early 90's though! Remember all the disgusting shell suit style paint jobs that were on everything with a full fairing in the mid-late 90's?

The good ol days, when Yamaha's were red/white/blue, kawasaki's were Green or Red/black, and Suzuki's were Blue/White. Them were the days, proper bike's and proper colours!

Are the twin cans standard?
I remember the Original 4 into 1 for the Gixxer-eleven had a huge silencer, with an awful perforated pattern round each end.
No wait... it was bigger than that, it was mahoooosive.

The twin cans look much better.

naa deffo 90-99, you cant be missing out the 918 blade/srad/zxr7 etc etc. even if the paint jobs did get the better of the crazy ass japs in the mid-late 90's 1 thing they didnt shy away from was their engineering finesse

In the 1st couple of pics I thought the ZXR looked better, then I spotted the 2nd exhaust and see how chunky it is.

Old skool Cool Thumbs Up

Yup, the bike is completely stock - exactly as it came from Suzuki.

That's wot I like about it, be hard pushed to find a non-modified example nowadays, especially in that condition. He even parks it in the original delivery crate in his garage! Very Happy

It's not about how 'slick' it looks, times change but the 1100GSX-R will always be known as the 'daddy'! Thumbs Up

Sure will.

If I remember correctly the Gixxer-eleven was the bike (or at least one of them) that inspired the 140bhp max power limit to be imposed back then.

Thankfully that rule has been dropped now. Very Happy

The Blade had already been done in it's original form, and no revisised versions ever would or could have the same impact as the first one did. It was a monumental step never seen again since!
Urban Tiger paint job had also been done before the mid 90's. No Blade paint job ever looked better or more suited to that bike!
