Does anyone know if you can put a password on folders as I am currently using a shared computer and would rather keep my grot etc where no one can find it...

Help appreciated

I tend to right-click, go down to properties, and set the folder as "hidden". Then it's just a matter of going to Control Panel and un-hiding all hidden folders when you need to "do some research"? Embarassed

Luckily the rest of my family are techno-numbties, so have no idea that this option is even available. Twisted Evil

Telling us what operating system your running might be a good start.

Pity...you can do it to individual folders on XP pro. You can get Winzip or Winrar and password protect them.

To be honest the easiest way would be to create a new user account for yourself, password the account.

Although that depends what file system you are using.

Failing that a much better way would be to dump everything onto a USB memory stick and take it with you when ever you leave the computer.
