Rolling Eyes

As you may recall my bike got stolen alonng with my cars, PC and shed loads of other stuff including the documents for the bike. Finally got the duplicate Registration Document for the bike and Norrwich Union now want a copy of the Insurance policy...so I ring up and speak to some retarded call handler at Bennetts - who says "you don't need this insurance policy document" - I explain that I do to make a claim...she says no I don't, I say well ring Norwich Union and tell them that! Twisted Evil She goes on hold noticing my irate tone and says I've spoken to my supervisor and we'll send you one!! Thanks I say, through nashed teeth.... THEN she says - "I notice you don't have breakdown cover for your bike" - at this point I say.... I've just spent 10 minutes to you explaining my bike was stolen so I don't need f*cking breakdown cover because I don't have a f*cking bike!! Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

I imagine I will be calling them in two weeks asking again for an Insurance certificate!

Dealing with insurance companies (and I'm currently dealing with 4) is seriously bad for your health and sanity.....f*cking muppet!!

Nice avatar.

Goes well with this post.

Good luck with it all.

Don't phone, send the buggers letters. Keep copies on file. You tend to forget what you said and when you said it, if you have it in writing in front of you, it jogs the memory. Useful to wave in their face when you finally fly off the handle.

Only takes five minutes.

When my MZ was stolen, I fell into the trap of repeatedly phoning and go absolutely fucking nowhere. One well worded letter sent by recorded delivery had them calling me, it was sorted out within the week.

I've attached a copy of said letter if you are interested.

Good letter! Thumbs Up The problem I have is that I am dealng with this x4 - two cars plus the bike and home insurance....chasing around for documents from the DVLA and insurance companies is a nightmare. Fortunately the one car that has been recovered is being repaired and should be back with us in 10 days...I have the loss adjuster coming round in a few days - looking forward to that Shocked Rolling Eyes

This is a good thing. You are face to face with the guy who can make the decisions, rather than speaking to some call centre operator who has no authority to do anything.

They are usually prepared to haggle a bit too, their job is to find out what will keep you happy while spending as little of the companies money as possible. At the end of the day, they should be able to shake on a deal.

Always push them for a wee bit more, if you push them too hard, they will only say no. Like with my MZ, they were all up for repairing it, I said I'd be prepared to accept it being written off if the price was right (easier for them). We'd actually got just above what I wanted for it when he eventually said, "If you want that much, we start pulling it apart and repairing it." so we did a deal, he got no more hassle, I got a cheque.

The factory sales rep refused point blank to ship me one with unpainted plastics (which are matt black). Try as I might I couldn't browbeat him into it, he then refused to supply me with a spare set of unpainted plastics because he knew what I was going to do with them.

Apparently "Zis is not how we vant to portray der brand. I cannot stop you doing ein respray ven you buy one but I vill not supply it like zat.".
