Bird in a tree

While walking my dog and the kids around a local forest yesterday, my girl shouted me over telling me there was a bird cage in the tree?????

Now I went over and some arse had only left a poor budgie in its cage complete with a bag of food, hung on a bungy strap.

What sort of idiot does a thing like that, the effort they had gone to, wrapping it up in a bin liner to keep it dry etc, when they go leave it in the middle of nowhere???????

Anyway rant over, 'Lucky' is now recovering in my bedroom Very Happy

maybe it belonged to a kid, and he hid it up there because his parents didnt want it in the house?

It's probably riddled with something.....

I think they used to do it years ago to catch Finces', hang a bird in a cage in a tree and have an opening that the wild bird could get through but the tame one couldn't get out of.....
