A speeding ticket is £60 and 3-9 points? Plus possible ban.

When you lot are on group rides out do any of you remove your license plates?

Because if you get pulled its a £30 fine and no points, and if you razz through a GATSO on an A road somewhere and it flashes you... Can they still track you or would the CPS throw it out because there isnt conclusive proof?

NB Im not thinking of doing this I was just curious. If it is like this im surprised anyone rides about with a license plate on.

Sure, but what is more common when going on an all day ride out in an area you dont know?

Police car directly behind you @ probably £30 fine.

Or speed cameras from both directions at £60 + court + points?

Which one has more discretion? Wink

how about an electronically flippable plate? is that more or less illegal than no plate? If you are going very fast police cars arent going to appear behind you, in town you could drop the plate down. Confused

How about buy a second plate, without the usual dealer bullshit on the bottom, then use that on your bike normally. Take your old plate, and snap it in half, when you go for a blitz, fit the sanpped half to the bike, and put the other half under the seat. Nothing else you could have really done if a copper stops you. Just say you wheeled the bike backwards into a wall and you're going to get a new one when you get home.

Yeah i think the flip plates show an intent to deceive the course of justice etc blah BS.

Good idea about the snapped License plate dude.

Anyone know if a GATSO flash with half a plate would be court worthy?

Bike/leathers/half a plate = Prosecutable? (<-- Is that even a word?)

I'm thinking or regestering my 636 ninja in Holland so that I have a dutch plate
that way you don't get any points or fines as the UK has no agreement
with the dutch cops to follow up on speeding tickets
Oh I live in holland fro 3 - 4 weeks then Scotland for about a week every month
so its not a problem for me to do it or get dutch insurance as well
