Playstation3 or Xbox 360 or Nintendo Wiii

Hi,

What is the best console of the 3. I want to look at it from every angle, price, graphics, what it can do, accesories.

If any ones knows or could point me in the right direction of a good site which heavily compares the 3 would be much appreciated.

BTW I've always been a Playstation lad.

Anyway, how can anyone says whats best ? Only 1 of the consoles are out.
the Wi will be here in a month or 2 and the PS3 will not be around until next year.

I'd rather wait till next year if the ps3 is going to wipe the floor witht he others, but if the wii is just as good I'd rather have that as its a good price and coing out soon.

if you build a tip top pc then it'll knock blocks(& pixels ) off the consoles!

i built my pc last year & it STILL plays ALL games & pretty much like xbox 360 if not abit better but its getting to the time for a nice FAT upgrade

Sony are corporate scum though arent they?

I have an xbox360, I dont have much interest in the Wii because of nintendo's decline into obscurity and watching some demos of the new controller. Once they had finished showing the games and applications there were a few 'howevers' and 'the control doesnt actually..' so was a bit put off.

As far as the PS3 being released then its best to know that sony are releasing the console to the jap market and the US. We are waiting for ours due to a backlog in production of intrinsic parts. There will be no more development of the console in this time.

I think that sony may produce a superior machine but they are setting themselves up for a fall. The 360 has been in the UK for nearly a year already, in which time I'd imagine a fair few units have shifted to a decent fanbase and the potential of the machine is being realised by publishers. Also in this time I would be shocked to hear that Mafiasoft havent started to develop a further machine. If they have then they have a years jump over sony now, which could amplify in the future meaning that sony might win the battle but will eventually lose the war.

My problem with the Sony was it is coming out 1 and a half years later then its first release date meaning that its software and hardware is 1 and a half years old and hasn't been upgraded.

The PS3 has been developed alot since its first release date. There will be no development from it winter 2006 date to March07 except for the fact that all units 20gb and 60gb will incorporate an HDMI slot (was previously just the 60gb).

The other thing to take into account is the sheer power and flexibility that the cell processor has over the more standard Xbox unit. it is essentially a 7core processor AND it has a very powerful Graphics card to boot. Having these 7 cores will allow it to run dedicated physics processes seperately from graphics and AI etc.

I think the PS3 will do fine - it has a HUGE fanbase of PS2 owners and if the PS3 forums are anything to go by, there will be a massive demand for it when it does finnally ship. Sony will have no problems with console and as developers find new ways to squeaze performance from the cell core, it will have a long shelf life. (consider what limits they managed with the PS2 for example!)

I for one will certainly buy one and never purchase an Xbox. I dont really like the range of games for it - they seem to be very EA biased
with lots of 2006,2007,2008 reincarnations.
Plus as an example of many others i have a strange loyalty to the Sony Playstation Brand. Games for teh PS3 will also be region free so you can purchase from anywhere and play titles not released in the UK.

I will however purchase a Wii as i think it is innovative in design and its not really battling for the same crown - it has a very different direction and will be excellent for post pub games

Obviously these are all my own opinions and i dont expect you all to agree.

Xbox 360 has a pretty good range of games.

Put off by the PS3

Wii I think will be more of a family-party kind of console.

Xbox Live is fantastic.

Sorry but if you think you're going to build a PC that will rival the spec of the 360 and not be 4 times more expensive then excuse me while I piss myself with laughter.

cause its only gonna be a little bit more money but gonna get ALOT more outta it i prefer CRISP,SHARP,NEAT graphics

online games can ALWAYS have more peeps in 1 game with each other then in the next 3-5 yrs when the console is drying out the pc is constantly going with a constant flow of upgrades

I'll be having a PS3, Xbox and Xbox 360 are both shite and nintendo's have never been any good so I don't hold out much hope for the Wii.

The main selling point of a console is the games on offer and the PS has always had the best, unless you talk to a nintendo purist who will scream at you till he's blue in the face about how good goldeneye was.

A friend of mine says similar things to a lot of you, but he has a lot of money. He says he's getting a Wii because it's going to be 'wicked' in his opinion, he likes the idea.
He told me PS3 will fall flat on it's face and the 360 is 'alright'.

He has a top spec PC currently, and from what i can see, unless you spend a hell of a long time sitting there downloading, upgrading, re-installing etc the games don't come as readily as on a console.
He plays a little Half life 2 online and BF2 but it gets boring, especially if your mates round.
So he's got a 360 now because it's out, the graphics are good, he likes it, it's easy to use, play and get online, Fight Night round 3 being a fav at the moment when i go round.
He's still going to get a Wii, and no doubt when the PS3 comes out he'll get that eventually.

Looking at the history of consoles, all of them fuc*ing sell in the ship loads no matter what the cost, i mean shi*, i was playing one game on the dreamcast for a few weeks last year, lol.
My mate bought it because it was really cheap and games were like £5 or something.

Doesn't anyone remeber the spaz that floated around about the PS2, it was deamed some sort of super computer or something, it was going to inihilate everything and could simulate gravity and all that. It turned out less than expected, but look how long it's last and been enjoyed, it certainly has lasted longer than your PC if you bought it that long ago.

The only thing that makes me want to get a 360 is Halo 3. In fact, it's the only game that's worht buying that wont be on the PS3 or PC.

I'd probably get a Wii just because of some of the demos that I saw and the fact it would be amazingly stupidly fun for parties or get togethers.

Definately gonna get a PS3 because of the game range. Gran Turismo, Metal Gear Solid (you lot seen the MGS4 traier? AMAZING), Hopefully another Tourist Trophy, God of War.

I heard that on Gran Turismo HD for PS3 wil lactually have bikes aswell as cars, but not at the same time and I'm wondering if anyone knows the full story on this.

Also the PS3 has a Blu-ray player. Blu-ray players are selling for 1000 quid and the PS3 is 425 quid. I'm not fussing about that.

Ive heard that when you buy Grand Tourismo on ps3 you only get one or two tracks and maybe two cars, the rest you have to download, Which you get charged for so you pay £60 for the game and then you have to pay out more for the tracks and cars. I know microsoft arent brilliant at what they do, but i think Sony are far worse for making promises and not keeping to them.
Every format that Sony has used "or taken over " has failed miserably. Does anybody have a sony minidisk player. If you record something onto minidisk using a Sony Player you find it hard to play on another minidisk player
Blueray they are only going to use that format so the game devellopers have to go through sony to release a game. The UMD format of PSP is another example of this.

The game is going to cost the value of the disk and manual and then items will be on top as and when you want to purchase.
I dont like the idea, but hey - im just a consumer.
