hello,
I have just put a new bottom end in my bike and the engine number has changed.
I am now selling the bike and want to know if this will be alright.
The engine i from a genuine source,
Is it okay even though my V5 says the other engine number?
Let me know what you think guys.

You were supposed to send off the log book to have the number changed. Most people don't check the engine number against the book, but you might want to point it out to the prospective buyer so they can put the new number on the log book when they send off for change of ownership.

It's easily done, just change the V5 and send it off. I did it recently.

For the very little hastle it causes you, you may aswell do it.

The engine number isn't as important as the frame number, but you may aswell do it. Personally I probably wouldn't touch a bike where the numbers didn't match.
