a load of marketing tosh... there are some small gains to be had in particulalry harsh engine environments, but since the iridium is only a coating, as soon as there's the smallest scratch on it, it's back to being a regular plug.

we've discussed this before in here.. I can dig out the post if you want.

I've bought spark plugs from these people before (just ordinary copper) no complaints, they do have a faq section which is a good read.

from their FAQ:

Quote:
A poor spark from a worn or low grade spark plug will reduce efficiency. An Iridium plug will produce a more efficient spark.

..so will a new, clean and properly gapped regular copper plug. Doesn't need to be iridium to provide a better spark than a worn/low grade one.

I think Paul@125power had them on his CBR125. Apparently worth an extra 8-10bhp. Also enabled his CGR125 to gain a top speed of 100mph.

I second that sickpup he really was a moron sometimes.

I wish he was still here because the other day I considered maybe his bike should have been called a "CBA 125", it wasnt slow really, it could do 100mph, but just couldnt be arsed.

What happened to him? Did he kill himself trying to a set a new 125cc motorcycle land speed record on his 'tuned' cbr125? Laughing

I think he left due to the banter about his push rod beast.

The short version is his brother got a lump on one of his nads so Paul ran a poll over whether he (his brother) should see a Dr., Hotdog told a story of someone who died of testicular cancer, Paul wished Hotdog would die of cancer and left in a strop with lots of capital letters used.

Weird thing was Hotdog was trying to get Paul to pressurise his brother into seeing a Dr so was doing the right thing.

I agree they are pretty pointless but i did notice that my storm starts much more easily on a cold winters morning with irridium plugs than standards.

Yeah I thought this was why he left too, the odd thing about it was Hotdog was actually being sensible, where as usually he's just a bell end. Laughing

Yeah and paul@125power only lives about 30 miles from me, I was going too meet him for him to "prove" how fast his CBA 125 went. That was if my ZX6R had the power to keep up of course.

But then he threw a strop after the lumpy bollocks thread and sent me a PM saying he was not going to meet me.

Crying or Very sad I was looking forward to see he was talking complete bollocks too. Mr. Green

Bought some iridium NGK's and haven't really noticed any difference at all. I'm sure on a dyno chart you would notice a few miniscule changes but in all honesty I haven't noticed anything.....Only got them as they were going well cheap on ebay.....
