In any form of motorcycle sport?

I just thought this could be an opportunity for everyone to post up a little section about any kind of sports they take part in on their bikes, away from riding on the road...

Could also be usefull for others who fancy trying their hands at something, but dont realy know how to go about it or what it involves...

Its also a blatent chance to big up your ego's

Anyway, heres mine:

Amateur Speedway / Grasstrack.

I rode my first speedway bike when i was 8, my dad got me onto a hire bike at Iwade (Sittingbourne) training track, where i was given about 20 laps to ride around their small track and get to see what a speedway bike / track feels like. I had one of their instructor type people sitting on the rear mudguard all the way round with me for about 6 laps, showing me how to do the throttle and clutch, and then i was on my own.

Since then i have progressed onwards and upwards, riding a:
125cc Honda road engine in a speedway frame
250cc Honda grasstrack engine in a grasstrack frame
500cc Weslake speedway engine in speedway frame
500cc Jawa ESO speedway bike
500cc Weslake again (Blew the previous one up )
500cc Jawa 897 speedway bike (Currently)

Earlier this season / late last season i was given the chance to ride a more modern speedway bike (Laydown type engine),and loved it! Realy got on well with it and brought a smile to many faces So the hunt is on for a new laydown for me for next season.

As well as the speedway, i also compete in club level grasstrack meetings across the UK with the VMCC (Vintage Motorcycle Club). I currently ride a 250cc BSA C15 in a Hagon frame, or at least i did until my accident about 2 months ago. Got cut up round a bend and i guess, due to inexperience, i was drawn into a scissor trap and was given nowhere to go exept for the high side. The bike was written off, the only thing that wasnt bent was the engine itself. I got off lightly, with cuts and bruises and a nasty sprain to my thumb, but it could have been a lot worse. Oh yeah, and the concussion

Anyway, looking forward to next season, im currently thinking that it will go something like this:

Speedway:
Regular club level meetings at Kings Lynn with ABC (Amateur Broadsiders)
Probably on my Jawa 897 again as i cannot afford a laydown at present.

Grasstrack:
Regular club level meetings around the UK with VMCC
Visit 2 or 3 other clubs and get my liscence stamped to upgrade to a "National Level" liscence (allowing me to compete in more competitive meetings).
Probably on a Honda 250 engine in a Hagon frame, or on some hybrid bike utilising my BSA C15 engine
