I know its Thursday but i only just got around to writing all this down.

Warning this maybe a long thread!!

Myself and a mate went off to silverstone on saturday to watch BSB on sunday with our Mrs' , all was fine saturday morning when i loaded all the luggage on my bike, went out to get fuel then back home for lunch before we set off.

After about 2 hours me and the mrs climbed on the bike to set off, no luck there as the battery had gone flat. Not a problem i attached the booster pack and she fired up, off we go a quick trip round to meet my mate and his other half.

We get there, shut down the bike for 2mins then come back to a flat battery again this time i get my mate to bump start me and off we go again.

Five miles later (luckily before we hit the motorway) the bike stalls crossing a round about, so i think the battery is really fuc*ed, we stop and my mate gives me a lift to the local bike shop to get a new battery.

With the new battery installed all is well...........or so i thought!

80 miles later it does it again this time i think its the alarm and immobiliser playing up so i stand at the side of the road and rip out the alarm with no luck it still doesn't work.

My mate calls the AA and after another 30mins the guy turns up has a little look over the bike and tells me the generators fuc*ed.

"Well what do i do now?" i asked "It's 80 miles back home or 25miles to the camp site in pitch black"

The AA guy says " well i can recharge your battery and you can be on your way"

As we had no other option thats what we did, i decided that i wasn't gonna turn my lights on as it would kill the battery quicker so i rode close to my mate and used his lights as a guide, i can tell you this it fuc*ing scary riding down country lanes with no lights.

Anyway we just got there and she died again, never mind atleast we was there.

After a great day on the sunday watching the races we still had to get home, luckily my mates brother in law was there marshalling and he lent us some jump leads.

So on the way home again with no lights! every 40 miles we pulled in and recharged my battery off of his, thankfully he has got the new bmw gs1200 adventurer with all the bells and whistles so his generator could handle it.

Oh well that was my story of an eventful weekend ride and now my bike is layed up untill i can get hold of a new generator, at least it has given my an excuse to clean the exhaust and repair the collector box while its off the road.

I apologise if i have wasted your time but never mind.
