Hi guys,

Wanting some advice. I bought a router from planet 78 on ebay. It was stated to have a 90 day warranty and after 60 days it has broke so I obviously want to return it.

Now the guy has not replied to my emails over the past two days. Now I appreciate that he might be away however I am concerned since I have left feedback that he will just fuck me off and not bother replying nor honour the guarantee.

So I intend to give him till friday before issuing any kind of threat. Now the thing is how do I go about making his life difficult. Can I use paypal to start a claim or do I go through ebay? How would I be best to proceed if he turns out to be an 'orrible c*nt?

Cheers
Craig

paypal are your best bet, ebay are useless at dealing with complaints in my experience, i wouldnt hold out too much hope though.

I'd say to call him as it's a lot harder for him to ignore that than it is an e-mail. You can request his contact information here and it'll be e-mailed to you, your contact info will also be sent to him when you do this.

Has his account been used recently (left feedback for anyone or had feedback left recently for him, any new listings)? Have a look at this page about claiming money through Paypal and this page for complaining through eBay.

Should he not refund you then you can either take a Siggi-esque approach by breaking his windows but remember that won't actually get you any of your money back so I don't think that'd be a very good choice, or you can proceed to claim money from him either through small claims court or through Money Claim which would get you your money back. Send nice letters by recorded delivery before starting anything like that as if he has any sense he'd then refund you before other charges started adding up.
