Buell XB12.

And boy did it scare me at first! Shocked The power is amazing. It pulls in every gear. Even pulling away my arms felt like they were being ripped off.

Took the bike out for about an hr, couldnt really go more than 90mph comfy, as the wind is a bit much.

They also keep your bum warm as the rear cyclinda is under the seat. Laughing

A great bike for tourque and stunting. Let down by a tiny hidden rear brake leaver which I had to activley look for to brake.

Buells are top bikes with plenty of logical innovations onboard but as you say its the little simple things that let em down, and the fact that they look gruesome.

have heard the throttle response is diabolical on them but that after that they're pretty cool - wouldn't mind a spin on one myself!

Thats an XB12S. I have the XB12R.

There isn't a cylinder under the seat, there is a fan which blows the air from the rear cylinder out under the seat!

You could always try the xb12r..the nose fairing is a little bigger, and helps a bit ifyou're crouched right behind it Very Happy

Very cool bikes but I'd get one to ride around the city and make lots of noise or if I had lots of spare moolah. Not ideal for motorways I'm guessing...

Yes the throttle response does tend to be bad but this is more down to bad servicing. They all seem to have FI faults which are just ignored when serviced.

Its true. It may have been cause its been almost 2yrs since Ive rode a "bike" but it just wants to take off from the moment you open the power.

It just forces you back and more often then not when you jerk back you open the power more! Twisted Evil

To a large degree yes. The biggest problem is cost, the little black box to check the FI cost £18,000 last time I asked so no one wants to buy one and even those with them tend to not have the brains to use them. Surrey HD are very good with their servicing and I would recommend them.

Surrey HD will also check the FI without the bike being in for a service unlike Warrs in Mottingham who are so far up their own arseholes that they will only do it during a service and then very badly.

Surrey HD are also polite and helpful unlike Warrs.

The Triumph Gameboy costs £4k but can only be sold to registered Triumph dealers apparently.

However some dude in Australia wrote some software to emulate it on a Laptop and sells licenses at £200 a pop.

Maybe someone should do that for the Buell?

Incidentally, it isn't Sagem fuel injection is it?

I'd hazard a guess that Thames Valley harley have the correct widget and know how to use it, as my bike has always been serviced there and it doesn't have an issue with throttle response!
