Right ok in May I went for a job interview for an MOD based IT job at Porton down in Salisbury. I was offered the job subject to the "Security Clearance" checks.

Well I was worried I wouldn’t get it. Just after I applied for another MOD job closer to me and was also offered that.

I took both jobs as not sure what I wanted as one was more money but the other one was hands on and less travel.

Well I received a letter last month from the local job I really wanted, saying unfortunately they have had to withdraw the job offer as they were unable to get the SC required. Sad

I rang the other job back and asked about how it was going and I herd nothing.

Well today I get an email from the Salisbury job saying that I have had the SC come through and asked when I can start. Razz

So.

1) couldn’t get SC for one Job
2) got Full SC for another MOD job

So how’s as this worked? I have rang the local job and have asked them if the job is still available as the SC as now come through! They are getting back to me!

Very Happy

Perhaps they are different level security clearances?

or they may have found someone else to do the job who is either A) better suited to the job or B) already has clearance, so they just told you they couldnt get you cleared

Both were SC clearence. Just spoke to the local job, turns out the SC has come for that job as well.

The letter was sent because it was taking so long to to get it they thought that I might not get it.

But they having a meeting tomorrow, as I mad need DV clearence for some of the customers. Confused

So he is getting back to me.
