The exact age and identity may be missing or hard to come by. Stolen and recovered are relisted a as Qplate as are most back garden kit cars.
Insurance will be more expensive and resale value will be lower but who cares if you know what your looking at and its cheap enough. ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy |

it is possible to remove q plate status though , ask kickstart or sickpup they know guys who will give you a cert to identify the age of your bike , costs £40 though , probably worth it as Q plate is insurance ££££££££ + ££££££££££££££££££££££££££££ ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. A 'Q' plate may be an original bike which at one stage had its numbers removed to conceal its ID, then it has been put back on the road legally without its original numbers therefor on a 'Q'..
or
It may have been built up from scrap / spares etc and its true identity can never be confirmed. To get an identity from spares there must be, i think, 60% of the machine from a particular donor vehicle ie engine, frame, rear wheel from 1 donor vehicle to take its ID.
Kit cars, Land Rovers, ex MOD etc were common place for 'Q' pre fix plates. Many Cobra replicas escaped the 'Q' as they were built on Ford Granada running gear so had engine , gear box, suspension and switches from the donor, this meant they evaded the dreaded 'Q' and were infact registered as a Granada and so insurance was cheap AND they could buy a 'C' suffix reg plate to make the car look more authentic.
See, i'm full of useless information, you'll be sorry you asked. |
