Nice!

I used to have a leopard skin gecko, I took him as a friend couldn't keep him any more, the landlord didn't like it!

What do you feed him, He looks a hell of a lot bigger that Yosh was!

He is fed every other day, 3-4 crickets or 1-2 hoppers.
Fresh greens everyday, sometimes sprinkle calcium powder on it.

He's got biceps now, pretty good at climbing. Cool Thumbs Up

I've recently found a web site for work that sells crickets and hoppers online!

Our postman would crap himself! Great for practical jokes though!!

I've always wanted something like that but my cat would probably get jealous. Might get a dinky little gecko or something though.

Do you let yours go in the bath atall? It's great excercise for them, they're fairly decent swimmers so long as theirs something to swim back onto and you keep an eye on them.

Ha your's is silly to!!

Bruce goes through stages of weirdness, a few weeks back he seemed to love kicking all the sand i use in the water dish. Confused

I do put him the bath sometimes, he is always a bit scared at first but after a few minutes he's kicking about all over the place...

Bruce cost my GF £25 to buy from a keeper, he was going to OZ for a new life and needed to get rid. TBH i would do this, find one local, look at the health of the thing and get yourself a deal.

From a reptile store you can pay anything up to £100 for one baby lizard.

My vivarium was £80 second hand, it is the minimum size for a fully grown Beardie, 4ft long, 1.5ft high and 2ft deep.
I am building a new one that’s a lot higher as they love to climb up everything.
If your going to build one read up on them certain materials have to be used.

Consumables

UV Tubes last 12 months I think.
They range from £15 to £40 for the long ones, I think they get very expensive for longer than the 4ft ones.

Heat spots (lamp) are a fiver each.

Heat mats (not always needed) are £15

Substrate (sand or bark) £5-8 a bag, lasts a month.
I use ELC play sand, it is small enough to pass through the guts of the lizard and is clean.

Food from my local reptile shop is £2.60 a tub, that is hoppers or crickets.
That can last anything up to a week depending on the size of the lizard and how fat you want him/her. lol

TBH you can have the viv as simple as you want inside (not fun for the lizard) but if you want loads of stuff for him/her to have a go on it can get quite pricey.

I have...

Large water dish £12
Fake foliage £5-10
Logs, variable sizes (sand blasted wood) £10-50
You can get your own logs but you have to make sure they are fully sterilized and cleaned, also you’ll have to note that some tree’s have sap and other toxins which these lizards can’t digest.

I got some large rocks from my local park, I got them outside and poured loads of scolding hot water over them killing everything. I made him his own place to sleep with them.

Added things for maintenance/keeping.

Calcium powder for bones and general good health (lasts along time) £5
Extra vitamins for food is about £5 also
Sterilizing fluid for viv cleaning etc £5

I would say that’s it, I’ve built it up over a long period of time.

Currently it costs me about a fiver a week to keep him, I wont need anything else until the new viv is here.Wink Thumbs Up

I’d recommend one, they are clever, funny, interesting and don’t need a lot of attention like mammals.

Edit:- if you are very interested but worried about getting wrong information or killing the thing.....

A seriously good book for these guys
