Im 15 today. Wahooo.. Anyway, 365 days to go untill i can legally ride a 'Ped. Anyhow. I have some More queries. Could everyone/anyone try to answer as best they can? I know its early days..but i've only got 11 months really,so its not that bad.

*What is the best type of 'Ped to go for, Race,Twist 'n' go, Dirt.
*What is the generally best 'Race' ped to go for.
*What is the best Dirt ped to go for
*What is the best Twist 'n' go ped to go for

Im PROBBABLY buying Brand New. But i might not be. See how the money go's,but if i have enough Moolah then im getting New.

dont buy new, its a ped, you ill drop it, or even worse crash it, and you will NOT make ur money back.

i got a piaggio zip for £50 when i was 16, and it beat every bike around my area.


just because ur buying new doesnt mean its the best, often than not the old ones are better. get a cub 50

get the cheapest 50cc you can buy, you'll be doing 40 at best, 45 if your lucky, get a twist and go they are fun to ride.

dont crash into anyone for the first year, and from there get something bigger.

Best to go for is a cheap (about £800) geared offroader type bike like the DT50, TS50, etc etc. It doesn't have shiney expensive fairings so when you drop it (it could be if you drop it, but chances are you will in the first year of owning a bike) it won't cos you a small fortune to repair. The best 50cc to buy is the one in best condition nearby to you at the time you're buying rather than 12 months before.

In 12 months time you'll be able to sell it on for about the same as what you paid for it assuming you don't run it into the ground too much, and the money you've saved from not buying new now you'll be able to put towards getting a 125 and/or doing your full test which'll benefit you far more than some new 50cc that would work out being a very expensive buy.

Had an Rs50. Did a fairly comfortable 60 i guess.
Ride was nice i spose, handled well. Wasn't worth it though. Wish i'd gone down the super-moto type road, senda sort of thing. Yeh it looked nice, and went like stink for a moped - beating a few bikes with loads of mods, 70 kit, carbs etc. All it had was a kundo exhaust and some carbon racing reeds. Payed £1700 for it, insurance was £660. As compared to a £500 ped with a £200 insurance.

Everyone loved it, said it looked good, It was utterly shit until the powerband, and with the kundo exhaust could be heard about a mile away. Sounded like a million miles an hour.

Go for a scooter, your only keeping it for a year, plus you'll crash alot.
You will get bored of it, dont spend £££ on tuning it up. Yeh, wack on an exhaust, few little tarty bits, but i wouldn't bother with a big bore kit or anything like that.
