I'm in love with my partner of 3 years, i wasn't looking for a GF at the time we met so it came as a surprise to me when 'things' started to happen.

For me, love is when you've met someone you are keen on, you go through the days unsure where you feelings lie about this person, then at some point, suddenly you feel slightly strange at the very thought of that person.
Time, money and your daily routine take the back seat and you are oblivious to any sort of problems you usually focus on.
In a flash it's been almost a month and you have no idea where the time went and what you were supposed to be doing.

Not sure what love is. Lust, been there done that, but love? It's a very subjective term, one person's true love feelings could be another person's "yeah they're OK" feelings.

For me, it's when I found someone that I am so comfortable with that he feels almost like an extension of me.

True, i just cant convince her she's making a stupid descion based on her parents. I dont choose my gf's because my Mum & Dad like them, if they do like them its a bonus, if not tough shit, as long as im happy who cares.

Just its stupid situation, stayed in Hotel last night, had a talk and established this

1. Yes her feelings are the same and have been since we started going out, loves me loads etc.

2. She cant/wont go against her parents wishes

I vaguely remember reading/hearing a comedian (can't remember which) mentioning what he missed about his wife who had died, and I guess it summed up true love.

The bit's he said he missed the most were the little thing's that annoyed him. The burping, the farting, being rolled on in bed. When she was annoyed at him etc. I guess when you miss those bit's of a person when they arent around, even if theyre gone for a week then that's what love must be.

id say there is a difference between being in love and loving someone.

I tend to have loved every girlfriend I have had, but I was only ever in love with one girl.

Being in love is a lot more intense and scarier than just loving someone.

Im a chicken so I prefer just loving someone rather than being in love. Far safer.
