at the ace yesterday doing bikesafe, chatting to one of the coppers over lunch, i asked why it is that the stunting that goes on there seems so tolerated when compared to other bike meets.......i didnt exactly get a straight answer, but mark wilsmore who owns it is an ex copper, and bikesafe is well embedded there...

what he did say was that its all down to the local council, and that they could just take his licence away. he said that the ace was under threat and in trouble, and that mark was, quote, "worried"

anyone know anything about this?

Stunting is going to happen, if i was council or filth i would prefer it outside a known biker hangout like the ace than down a busy high street...

What R1 was it? Was it all black with a 12 bar?

Or was it an R6 and doing stupidly fast wheelies across the ace road?

hard to tell coz it was dark, but id say the matt black style R1

& he dint have a 12 bar(too skilled to need it) but his plate was attached UNDER his undertray(so it wasnt on show,& only JUST noticed it there from the endos he was doing)

he was going from FAT wheelies then once it came down ,went into a rolling burnout & the endos were LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG!

The 12 bar is so that you don't break the bike.
I've seen it suggested that it's best to learn them without, as it's the rear plastics have a bit more 'play', meaning you're less likely to have a hard landing on it causing other problems.

I did discuss this with my police instructor; he didn't have any answers to where people /should/ play.

Sorry, just to get this straight....

You have seen this person doing constant vertical wheelies (bike actually vertical, not 11'o'clocl or 11:30 or whatever) without touching down any part of his bike?

Still the same down there. Nothings changed and all the talk seems to have died down. We'll see.

But don't the council only gain from the Ace Cafe. It brings in a lot of people from around London and also tourists who otherwise wouldn't go to that part of London. So the council must make money from it (somehow Laughing ), so why close it down? If there were lots of deaths happening / or if it was a residential area then I can understand, but it is not.

I dunno. Razz

What you on about? Laughing

12 bars aren't just to stop damagin the tail, they are the next step up after you scrape the stock tail, because it opens up loads of new tricks that take a lot more skill..

but scraping without a 12 bar does look the nuts!! but it doesnt mean they too skilled for a 12 bar Laughing I love the sound when plastic scrapes the floor tho Wink

i nearly got caught out by the speed camera coming away from teh Ace Cafe last time i was there.

One of me mates warned us all not to go red lining it away from the lights down the sliproad cos of it.

After waiting ages at the lights me and a mate on a ninja went and red lined it down the slip road, slamming on our brakes when we finaly remembered Laughing

sparks you need to READ whos said that before quoting ME! cause i never said it was for that

but what I said, was that you dont need a 12 bar to do 12's cause a bike can go past the 12 position & also i never said that HE DID 12's just he was skilled enough to do so!
