What are everybodies thoughts on sidecars and racing associated with them?

My friend and I were thinking of starting sidecar racing at Jurby airfield on the IoM.....

I got shotgun... alllllllllll right Shocked

Fantastic to watch, big respect to you for choosing an outfit.

My brother was a chair passenger in a classic IOM race a few years back, he was on a Norton combi and said that his solo racing was worlds apart from this game.

It's good fun, though you need to be pretty fit to be a passenger!

I tried it out with the club I race with, click the pic for the thread, which has more details:

Not sure if I'd just go out and buy a sidecar to do it, but then there's no other real way to get into it as a driver if you aren't friendly with other people that do it.

yeh i think we are safe in the nutters dept. we have a mate who races them thats how we got involved (accept for me who medics for them). so might sweet talk and see if we could have a burst out on his to see what its like.

Was a sidecar passenger in my younger days. Rode a GT750 Suzuki powered outfit. Brilliant.

Would do it again tomorrow with no hesitation.

as long as you both trust each others abilities, and you're both as crazy as coconuts, then its wicked fun, the rider has to try and forget every thing he knows about cornering on a motorcycle and learn again with the side car, its difficult, but worth it Very Happy
