Hi All,
Bought all my gear today from local hein grecike shop and am absolutely chuffed... The guy gave away a GBP 40 worth of gloves free as well!!!
On my second day at DAS yesterday, managed to lock front wheel and back wheel , and somehow stayed upright! Smile My instructor was well impressed Rolling Eyes

Hope everything goes fine tomorrow.. Will keep you guys posted. Twisted Evil

Cheers
Dew

PS: I want either ninja zx6r or else suzuki gsxr600.. Any advice Smile

Twisted Evil PASSED with no minors... Rolling Eyes

Thx to all of u! Thumbs Up
Then went and did test ride on gsxr600 and ninja zx6r!! It was very heartning to see the dealer taking great pains to explain how different the sports m/c is as compared to er ER5..
Absolutely loved both the machines! no problems on low speed , and after 45 mins of riding both, am unable to say which is better.. just on looks and price zx6r wins and am thinkin of buying it tomorrow.. just reached back home!
so off to spending time on getting insurance quotes...

Just for records am 30 yrs old and am sensible (???).... I would recommend the bikes to anyone s long as you are aware that the bike's much more capable then you are! So treat it gently.

Cheers,
Dew
PS: If you saw a guy revving hard on A41 today afternoon, it would've been me Very Happy

I think the perception is that gixxer is more comfortable to drive. The dealer was saying once you ride gixer you can't really feel comfy in ninja. I rode ninja, and loved the sittin position (in gixer i kept moving around to find suitable position) and boy did i love to GROWL of ninja!! Razz
So for me, based on the looks and sound , ninja wins hands down Thumbs Up . shame black is not available, hence will have to settle on GREEN. Twisted Evil

Cheers,
Dew

PS: As an after thought, main difference is twin headlight on ninja, which i like a lot more then single headlight of gixxer.

[EDIT] and the underseat exhaust!

Congratulations on passing the test! Getting a "clean" pass is a good feeling - makes all the lessons worthwhile Thumbs Up

Without wishing to be a wet blanket, passing your test is just the beginning. It took me a good couple of years to become moderately competent on two wheels.

There's also an option missing on the poll: None of the Above. Believe me, you will drop your first 'bike, probably several times, and both the Suzuki and the Kawasaki have a lot of expensive plastic.

The naked Suzuki GSR600 is a naked alternative, which will probably cost less if you drop it - and it's probably cheaper to insure too.

When I was starting out I looked at the Yamaha Thundercat, and it was going to be >£2000 to insure, so I bought a Fazer instead: same engine, less plastic, half the insurance bill. Still riding it today Smile

HTH Very Happy

Well done m8. Way to go. I have Fazer too, love it, but not gr8 in low gears, bit clunky gear box too, but has more than enough power at higher speeds.

I dropped my bike 2x within the 1st week!! So yeah I agree with previous post. I was stationary as well, lol, but I am a short ass 5'4"

Touch wood, havent dropped it since.

Happy and safe riding m8. Thumbs Up

This is not obligatory. I had to wait for my third bike to drop it.

Fair enough, but I don't think he'll be changing bikes anytime soon and he's quite... fresh still. Razz

You're obviously blessed with good fortune - my Fazer hit the deck within two hours of leaving the showroom Crying or Very sad and I know I'm not alone in that sort of drama.

Maybe you should buy some lottery tickets Wink
