Another bike won't start!!

Just re-built my trident 900 engine, and now can not get the thing to go. There is definitely fuel, but I can't get a spark. Have already changed the plugs, leads etc. What else can I check? When I put a multimeter across the plug and to earth, it seems to be getting a voltage. Confused

Any ideas?

if it was ok before, and assuming no silly slip-ups like leaving something unconnected, then because you've re-built the engine, i'd be having a look at the pulse sensor which detects the crankshaft or camshaft position for the timing the ignition spark. No pulse, no spark.

It's normally just a coil, which you can measure the resistance of. you'll need to look in the manual to be sure. But the obvious thing to check is that it's placed correctly with respect to whatever it is on the engine that spins around and that it is picking up from - it'll need to be in the correct place to work and sometimes there's some adjustment.
