My car is on ebay, had loads of interest, got lots of watchers and had lots of e-mails asking for buy nows, to view etc..

Today I got an email from somone offering me £1750 which is about right to be honest so it's not an unreasonable offer.. he says he's after a car as soon as possible hence making an offer instead of waiting out the auction, which is perfectly normal...

He's e-mailed me asking to view it now (at 9:30 ?? ) and already has the cash, obviously I've replied saying it's too late tonight but tomorow would be better..

Does this seem a bit dodgy?? It seems odd, but maybe i'm reading too much into it. Just seems like he's in too much of a rush and has made a decent offer straight off? either that or he knows what he wants and needs something quite quick.. im in the same situation as I need a van pretty quick too.. although I wouldn't ask to view at 9:30pm...

The bloke has 86 100% positive feedback so hes not a new to ebay person, it seems quite likely that he's after a car, has been to view one this weekend with cash but hasn't bought, and now he's looking for another car pretty quick.. and already has taken the cash out the bank for viewing some other cars... he hasn't bought or sold since June though (well, no feedback since june anyway)

It's not like he's saying I'll buy it without even looking at it, he wants to view and hear it running, I've put loads of decent quality pics and lots of info on the auction so he knows a lot about the car so wouldn't need to do too much when viewing..

Does this all sound reasonable or does it sound really dodgy?

I've said he can view tomorow, not giving him my address tonight, will send it tomorow and see how it goes... just a bit edgy about this though. but it might just be me being a bit paranoid for no reason.. just wondered what you lot think..

is he just trying to get my address so he can nick it? Laughing

Is he gonna view it, ask to hear it running then drive off Shocked

Or does he sound pretty genuine and just wants a car as quick as possible? Embarassed

Sounds good enough for me, but don't allow a test drive without the cash in your hand...

If he's local it doesn't seem too strange. If the seller was up for it i'd look at a car at that time of night, in fact i did. I viewed my bike at 9pm then went back with the cash next day. I think if someone was going to the trouble of nicking a car in that way they'd go for something worth a bit more than 2 grand.

Lay off the weed dude. Wink

Doubt it, if doing that then surely he'd be going for a car worth several times what yours is?

Assuming he's local then there its fair enough, he wants to buy your car and if it was too late then you wouldn't be online reading and replying to his emails. Him coming to view now would be your advantage as he won't be able to see the car to look it over very well to find any scratches etc.

Also, if it did get nicked, you'd know for a fact it was him. You would have seen his face, heard his voice etc.....
But maybe thats why he wants to view it at night, so you cant see his face that well Confused

nah Laughing

Seems perfectly plausable.

Remember, you can get in the passenger seat if you're getting a test ride. If things get dodgy, unclip his seat belt and pull the handbrake on Razz.

I recently sold a sight unseen crashed ZZR600 for £400 which I took off of ebay for the buyer. Bloke emailed me, paypal'd a deposit and picked it up with cash in his hand 4 days later.

Sometimes people are honest.

I agreed a private sale for the ZXR after getting loads of emials offereing me more and more money, so I eneded the auction a day or so early. He paypal'd and sent delivery bloke from Devon to Essex to come and get it.

Ebay is full of useless twats, but there are the occasional nice blokes out there Wink
