I was on my way to herne Bay from London & got a little lost & ended up going down a lane & noticed there had been an accident, i was going to ride on but then i saw the rider laying int he road, got off & asked if there anything i could do but the rider was already dead, had a obvious broken leg & blood coming out from he's mouth & nose.

Turns out that a car did a u-turn from another lane & didn't look, the impact managed to make the car do a 180. The bike (Bandit) had hardly any damage which was weird.

Anyway, ambulance came (15 minutes later) & covered the guy with a sheet, i've never witnessed anything like that before & it hasn't sunk in yet.

Feel for he's family.

RIP.

I'm fine, just made me think a little more about riding & those cars.

From the sounds of it the car had just done a u-turn between 2 dual-carriageways (little turning bit) & didn't look properly, i asked him what happened & he just said the usual.

The guy who pulled out got abit of a grilling from a driver who is also a rider, which is rightly so as most of us has been there with cars pulling out.

Properly kitted out with a top box, so hardly you're average racer.

Yeah, not nice is it.
I was witness to a bike accident once, I was trying to cross a fairly busy road (on foot), eventually legged it across...the woman in a car in a side road, pulled out - just as a biker came along - he had no chance and smashed into the side of her car.

Her excuse...she'd seen me dash across and thought it was therefore, safe for her to pull out...

I hung around till the emergency services got there, made sure noone took off the bikers lid...when it came to making our statements, the woman got a verbal from the police officer, and I got told in no circumstances was it my fault.

Boy, did I feel REALLY guilty for a hell of a long time. I was also primary witness for the fella, gave my statements...etc. it never went to court, and Im hoping he got his compensation without a doubt.

Hope the Police do the driver for death by reckless driving. Are you witness for the Police?

Heard today on the radio that the rider was 36 & the driver was 65 & was taken into police custody.

I'm not a witness but there was a few lads who were, i gave my number anyway just incase.

Not commuting, i was going to visit someone & got a bit lost..

Someone came off his bike on Herne Bay seafront. A car pulled out on him but he didn't die. Funny thing is no-ones ever seen him (out of me and my mates) he is just the mysterious figure (rather like ghostrider) who can apparently ride from London to Herne Bay in 35mins (gsxr1000).
