right, someone tried to break into my car last night, to nick the radio

didnt manage it, inept fucking chancers couldnt even do that right, the face plate is lying on the seat, and the radio is still in the car, albeit half jammed out of the socket

so angry

need some advice though, not really sure what to do now, do i ring the police, ring the insurance or what? thanks folks

was parked on my drive, right up to the house, its well out of the way, and someone has to physically poke around on my property to notice the radio, cunts

Ring the police. Nothing will get done, but you'll get a crime reference number. If you want to make an insurance claim, you'll need one.

Check to see if your policy covers vandalism and if it affects your NCB. If so, make a claim. If not put it down to a bitter experience.

Don't bother phoning the police, instead go here and use their on-line reporting tool. Once you have completed and submitted the details, they will be sent to the relevant department who will call you back.

Ring the cops , become another statistic better than being quiet

The problem is even if caught in the act nothing can be done prisons are full = they will get off.
CCTV is also a no no since you need to warn them of it and even though this may form
excellent red handed evidence , prisons are full so they'll get off.

Which means decent people like me and you have to go over to the dark side....mwahahhahaa

Set traps which are not obviously traps which you can claim to be junk lying around, such that no jury in the land will convict.

over it? they slip and get impaled , sit back and enjoy the blood curdling screams for a few minutes hours or days if
you feel so inclined, then the cops, but when you call the cops use the none emergency number instead too, which means
the cops will take hours to arrive and you can enjoy the sight of a chav impaled on a spike.

As mentioned, definitely contact the cops.

If you do want some CCTV, I should finally have a working and cheapish set up soon (can always put up warning signgs after, if need be ).

Though, as mentioned doesn't mean much will be done about it if you do get footage.

A flood light might be worth considering, as well.

Bit late with this as only just read the post but another vote for contacting he police and getting a crime number. At least you'll have the satisfaction of adding to their statistics.

I also found out this weekend why the police are so slow in following up any crimes and coming round to visit. An officer gets assigned and then it's his/her responsibility. Trouble is he'll probably be working 3 days on and 4 days holiday a week. So the chances of him/her getting round to you is low.

My mate lives on a relatively posh road, has about 5 coppers dotted on either side of the road living there, and he still had the radio taken out of his focus, on his drive way, with the light that comes on when someone steps in the drive way.

It's a good time to be a criminal. If I was young and without commitments, I'd think about taking it up. Easy, fun and not a fucking hope in hell you'll get caught and if you do, well, a few hours graft is nothing compared to the cash you'd have made by robbing people.

The situations i've been in after being a victim of crime have always left me with a bad outlook on the police, they've shown time and time again the level of commitment seen on celebrity fit club.
