Anyone got an idea how much eyetests cost? And who are the cheapest, basically i need to have my form for the Army filled in, just need my eyes testing Thumbs Up

Yep 20 quid seems to be the going rate. Usually free if you buy any glasses afterwards, but my guess is you're hoping not to.

Nah, they'll try wangle me too tho, but nothing wrong with the glasses i have. Dont need new ones Laughing

Just want figures for the Army, doctors shit is all done, just need this sorting now then can do the bleedin interview and fitness bollocks. Thumbs Up

In Scotland, they're free (to you at the point of service at least). The NHS pays the optician £38! Shocked Or so they did in Vision Express according to the receipt.

I had an eyetest about two weeks ago (specsavers)

I went in and afterwards she said
"well your vision is essentially the same, but i recommend you pick out some new glasses to replaces your old ones, they're a bit tatty"

"ok" came the reply from me.

So, i'm sat there with the exact same frames i've had for ages, and then i thought "Fuck paying £80 for the same glasses and prescription"

Got up and left.. = free eyetest! 'ave it! Very Happy

I paid £10 for one at vision express bout 18 months ago. But having a test and getting them to sign a form is a completely different matter. Otherwise you could sign your own form saying yeah my vision is top Thumbs Up

I dropped a bollock saying i wear glasses tho, i only need them for watching telly tho and when ont computer. But they need to be sure.

Think going in the Army's for the best, beats this dead aend job with no prospects.

If you've gotglasses you must have had an eye test. Your optician will give you a copy of it free. It all depends whether its recent enough for the army.

You sure, because i have this Army form and all they have do is fill in the little bits and sign it? Most recent eyetest was feb this year.

One thing to bear in mind is that if you have contact lenses, the prescription for those is not necessarily the same as it is for your glasses.
