Got an appliance which has a 2 pin plug and currently used with a UK adaptor. The trouble with 2 pin plugs in the UK is that they don't fit very securely, and pull out of the wall easily.

I'd like to replace it with a UK 3 pin plug, but is this possible? Is it possible and what would I do about earthing it?

No problems - and it doesn't have an earth at the moment, so it won't be losing out, as such.

Just attach one wire to live and one to neutral. Will be fine. (What do you think an adapter does Wink )

Just attach the live to live and neutral to neutral in the plug, indeed. (live is the brown one with the fuse).

It might surprise you to know that hardly any UK appliances have the earth connected, it's from back in the day when everything was metal. There's no point in the Earth unless the thing is metal, or has metal bits you could touch.

Yes, the US is 110V.

However he says that he wants to put a new plug on because it falls out of the wall easily, that implies that it already works fine on 230V and he just wants to make it more secure.
