Done it.... Twice!
It doesn't make a lot of difference (to me at least) where you look! It's not natural doing something you have been programmed to avoid doing... (falling ) Just keep calm and focus on something that catches your attention!
Enjoy it! ____________________ Funny, I used to hate being spanked as a child!

Did a tandem jump about this time last year at Headcorn in Kent.
Very lucky with the weather loads of white frost first thing gave way to fantastic clear skies and sunshine. The views of the thames estuary, all of kent and the channel were fantastic.
Went up in a tiny plane, strapped to the guy I was to jump with.
When we reached 12000ft the door opened and we shuffled across the floor until our feet were dangling outside. At this point you aren't really in the plane anymore 'cos your on his lap .
Anyway they tell you to look up and then its lean back before you throw yourself forward into nothing...Now you see that there is nothing beneath you and it is now that in a split second your brain decides whether your going to scream in panic or just start lauging insanely
Freefall lasts in the region of 40 seconds or so reaching speeds of about 120mph. Then after deploying the chute its another few minutes to enjoy the view and maybe fly the canopy. I could not believe how quiet it was.
An absolutely fantastic experience well worth doing and something you will not forget. You get the option before hand of paying to have your jump recorded. Part of the cost covers the cameraman who jumps with you to catch all your stupid facial expressions Before going I thought I wouldn't pay for this but when there thought bugger it, how many times am I going to do this, sod the cost. The DVD was ready for me to take home within the hour.
You will love it ____________________ (Feb06) Honda CG125 - (Jun06) Suzuki SV650S K1 - (Apr11) Moto Guzzi Griso 1100 |

Good luck with the tandem TheDonUK....not done a tandem but I have jumped with static line at Langar....that started with a charity jump but liked it so much I carried on and finished up free-falling till the money ran out....you will never forget the experience....but the tandem is expensive, why not a static line....I would help around the airfield by collecting and folding chutes and squares...crikey it was marvelous. ____________________ ...its what you make of it...

Oh, I should have told you to watch that you dont trip up on your way out of the plane.
When I started we used the round chute a C 9 LL and then a 9gore but they only use the squares now, more control. ____________________ ...its what you make of it...

^ thats why mate ...
I want freefall experience rather than "just.. lol" parachuting... Or i think i do, we will see when i am at the door of the plane 14,000ft up .
Also its a kind present for my 21st, as for the cameraman jumping too, i might have to put it on my card ... Just one of those things that i can justify myself putting on the card...
I have been pushing my bike to close to the terminal velocity stated
and when there thinking how it would feel going down... Nothing alike |

You'll love it, I have done 3 tandems and 35 static lines and then I had kids so couldnt afford to carry on. With a tandem when you look out the plance it looks so sureal, you may be lucky and have a door but I prefer taking in the scenery. The clouds look like cotton wool and look like you could walk on them. When you exit the plane it takes your breath away and then it doesnt feel like your falling at all.
Enjoy the experience, its fantastic. Makes me want to do more now |

Well after all the build up and one of the most disjointed nights of sleep of my life, i rang the guy up today and he confirmed what most weather sites say that its not the day to be jumping, I will now have to wait till either Friday if there is a cancellation or in a weeks time... |
