Revenge or forget about it?

I'm generally a person not to seek revenge , and my travels bought me into contact with some pretty unpleasant people , I left that job pretty sharpish and self declared my income and will pay the tax on it in Jan 07,

Thing is they got peeved at me for something and started threatening my friends down south , sometimes going to my old bike meets and looking for me making threats. I have no idea if these threats have any teeth.

As said I generally live and learn and forget such things or try to since its in the past , they haven't however and have started making threats to friends again.

Is revenge in order?

I know they are a tax evading company (a reason why I left sharpish) I did their book keeping and left no indications that I was ever there, and I know how their tax evasion works through and through.

Ie should I put a tip in at the Inland Revenue about them? , as said I've covered myself totally and I'm just pissed that some of my friends down south are living in fear.

Or would they find out it was me and actually send somebody to kill me?,

Just to add confusion into the mix 3 of the staff are really good guys its just the bosses that are cnuts and I don't want to see them unemployed.

If they are of the belief that you have grassed them up and are making the threats then what have you to lose by actually grassing them up?

Mmmm, you're being a bit too vague to give any decent advice..what sort of business are we talking about, what nationality are these people, and what involvement do your friends 'down south' have and how do they know your friends?

In my experience, 'heavy' criminals, Russians, Kosovans and Columbians are definitely worth steering clear of and not worth antagonising, anyone else are usually all mouth and no trousers and some you can negotiate with - i.e. back off making the threats or I'll tell the IR about your tax evasion scheme.

What sort of people? What sort of threats?

Revenge in cases like this is definitely a dish best served cold, you need enough time to pass so that you are an unlikely connection when anyone is trying to work out what may have happened to them.

[naive mode] Are your friends in a position to maybe go to the police and get these people warned off that way? [/naive mode]

Or maybe to go to "other" friends who are more in a position to front up to them?

Re the 3 people who may end up unemployed, believe me better to be on the dole than work unknowingly for someone crooked then find yourself implicated when it all starts to unravel. Ask me about my experiences in 2002/3 when my ex-employer had me arrested sometime.......

Agree with what you say though, in general, if you were sufficiently nasty or dangerous to be able to do anything, you wouldn't be running to the net to ask permission.
