Please be aware of the latest scam going around the south of the country at the moment:

A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a premium rate number). DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from Belize. If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £15 for the phone call. If you do receive a card with these details, then please advise your local trading standards and www.icstis.org.uk.

This is a genuine scam.
This service is under investigation by ICSTIS. Please be aware of this scam and forward this information to as many as possible.

Don't know if this is also related to this thread.

HTH Thumbs Up

As posted by Bazza. Wink

Trading Standards need a kick up the arse then; the tel. number was disabled around two years ago:

https://www.snopes.com/fraud/telephone/pds.asp

However, it's likely that the scam (or another variation of it) will surface again sooner or later, so if you want to check a number before you call it, use the Icstis premium number check page:

https://www.icstis.org.uk/consumers/ncd/default.asp

You can always tell when its an old wifes tale as it has these words in it..."This is a genuine scam."

Anyway the most you can be charged in the UK for ANY phone call is £1.50/min. Wink

It's the "forward this information to as many as possible." that gives it away. The hard-of-thinking will be spamming all their friends and rellys with it, and they in turn (also being medically excused in the battle of wits) will do the same. Rinse and repeat... Rolling Eyes
