chinese ebay bikes

thinking of getting a chinese bike of ebay, just wondered what they are like, performance reliability and parts availability etc...or would it be better to get an older japanese bike. i am doing my test asap but with uni there isnt much point getting a bigger more expensive bike to run as money wil be tight.


edit:the reason for poting is my dad wants to buy me one for my 18th and is unsure about them, as am i

You will lose a lot less on an older jap bike you sell on a year later than an unknown chinese copy.

ive had a look at a few old threads and im unsure now, some people say their bike is good, some say its a bag of nails it seems to be luck of the draw if you get a good one
