Went to oulton park yesterday, typical friday the 13th, all the bikes (350 honda, ducati pantah, F1) bar the vfr400 failed noise testing so no go with them.. bastards! We were told that it was a no noise limit day but this was incorrect!

anyway heres ricks RG500, very rare beast indeed

The RG is a strange looking bike, the exhausts almost look like machine guns Laughing

Not being able to race because they vroom vroom too loud is just stupid, I take it you get offered a refund if the bikes dont comply with the regs?

What's that flexi-hose clipped onto the exhaust of the Norton? Some sort of pressure equalisation thingamajig? Confused

Edit: or rather, some sort of basic EGR? (exhaust gas recirculation - the water in the exhaust gas reduces the combustion temperature as it absorbs a lot of heat, letting you run hotter than before).

I think it was called an Extractor exhaust or something . Think it gave them a shit load more horsepower .

Love these old racebikes though ,RG looks great in the old Heron colours . Bet it sounds amazing when given a bit welly .!
