How do I remove the cylinder barrell,t won't budge?

I've got the engine out on my old cg-125 (1989 ), and am following the instructions in the Haynes manual.

I've removed the rocker cover, rocker arms and pushrods.

Removed the four large sleeve bolts, and theadditional bolt into the cam follower shaft, and the two bolts thorugh the flange on the left hand side

They just tend to get stuck on older engines - either a small amount of corrosion around the studs/bolts or adhesion of the head gasket.

Put a load penetrating fluid down the stud holes (let it soak overnight), keep pulling at it and tapping it very gently sideways with a soft mallet. Don't be tempted to try and lever it off.

If that gets you nowhere, there's a thing you can do with string...

EDIT - ignore the string thing, I thought your head was stuck on. The rest still applies.

Thanks, I'll spray penetrating stuff down the holes and wait, and buy a rubber mallet in the morning.

dont think the engine isn't seized, cos it kicked over with plenty of compression before I took it out.
