Digital SLR - Marks on photos

Hello, I recently purchased a Canon EOS 350 to get into the world of photography and while its a lovely camera I've noticed that I get some small grey spots on my images (see attached)

I've had a look at the lens and its clean, is it likely to be dirt in the body itself and if so, how do I get it cleaned up?

Hi

Probably dirt on the sensor. Try a few shots of a blank background with a very small aperture. They will probably rather smaller are sharper.

You can get kits to clean the sensor.

Don't use any compressed air stuff as you stand a good chance of getting propellant on the sensor.

If you have a local camera shop, they may be certified to do it for you if you're not feeling confident (I say local camera shop as others send the camera to a Canon dealer and it'll cost more). Its pretty easy to do it yourself, just allow yourself plenty of time.

They look like UFO`s to me.....

Advice as above, Mine 350d`s relatively new, so I haven`t had to do it yet!

Thanks for all the advice guys.

I decided to have an initial attempt with a simple blower and its removed all the black spots bar one so no need for any fancy cleaning kits yet.

I think in future I'll be a bit more careful with lens changes. I never really appreciated how much of a pain dirt can be

Don't forget to switch the camera off while changing lenses as the static charge attracts dust

Some lenses will pump a fair amount of air through (including dust) as you zoom them in and out.

yup never really had a problem, just do the change as quick as possible and keep the camera body facing down when changing lenses and replace caps as quick as possible as well..
