i need help! my zxr400 wont rev past 6k! it stalls! starts ok and tick over is fine. Smile

again my guess is carbs, take them off and give them a clean out. make sure you check all the carb boots are in good condition and don't have any leaks.
(make sure your air box is correctly installed and doesn't have any leaks between it and the carbs)
do the basics first.
check all your cylinders are actually firing, by testing each plug at a time. the old zx should rev through to 15k so some thing is up
carbs is probly the culpret. is this a recent event or has it always been like this??
great bike by the way(i used to have one in my younger days Very Happy)

this prob well its the 2nd time ive thad it happen , both times were in the wet the firs time it just got better after 5 odd miles at 15mph i dryed her out and had the carbs off but still cuts out will it do this if it has to mutch oil in her ?

I'd say the casing on your HT leads is exposed to the elements, so your bike is dropping a cylinder or two when its raining as the electrics are getting shorted out.

Personally I wouldn't mess about and replace them straight away and see if that helps before riding out.

But I am a) an idiot and b) not a fan of testing things thoroughly before whacking new parts on
