I bought a pot of rain-x wipes on friday (£3.99 @ Halfrauds), been using them this week. I clean my visor squeaky-clean with fairy liquid & warm water dry it off then rub the wipes in quite firmly. There's a slight haze left, which I get rid of by running tap water over the visor.

It was raining this morning and the water just ran off the visor, had no visibility problems at all. When I am going slow I turn my head and it runs off easier. I also went over my screen, petrol tank and seat with the wipes, which means when I come out in the morning if it's been raining I tip the bike over a bit and the big bobbles of water run straight off, not into the crotch of my leathers Smile

How many wipes does a box contain?

Also, how often do you have to re-apply the Rain-X?

Pest, i know Smile

just use the polish/wax that you do the fairings with - does the same thing. repells water and makes it easier to remove flies et al.

25 wipes in a pot. I re-apply it every time I clean my visor, so should last 2 months. Wiping the visor over doesn't seem to affect it much.

Well, I've picked some up today, so torn between hoping it'll stay dry and wanting to see how well they work!

The downside was having to go to Halfords and deal with the arrogant little weasels who work there, trying to give it 'Daddy Big Balls' to each other, but then monosyllabic and surly when dealing with customers.

Complaint emailed to Customer Services at head office, for all the good it will do.

Harrow - Station Road.

The rain-x wipes work perfectly, not only did heavy rain bead off, when it gets misty/drizzly, one wipe of the finger across the visor clears it perfectly.

Well worth the money.

Nikwax aqueous wax is good for the seat. Re-apply weekly, and it'll last for yonks. Cheaper than rain-x, and just as effective Thumbs Up
