Another couple, 'Born Free' (read it first when I was 7 or so, but still a good book from what I remember).
True story about a pet lion and the family it is living with in Africa. And interesting view of a different life style to anything you might have in the UK.

Incompetence by Rob Grant (of Red Dwarf fame).
A lot of bits scarily close to the way the world works in a very dark comedy.

Not yet, I might pop to some book shops next weekend if I have time. I purchased the others on ebay but the postage was double the price of the books so arses to that.

there is stuff in the dvds which isnt in the book, and stuff in the book which isnt in the dvds, so its nice to have both

Spot on colin Thumbs Up

With having both the book and dvd, you do a complete view of the whole trip Thumbs Up

Also with having the book, its nice to let the imagination run wild and imagine how you think the scenary looks, and then seeing how it actually looks on the dvd

I went through a bit of a 'classics' phase a while ago (no, not the trainer) and read War of the Worlds, The Time Machine, 1984, Animal Farm, Hitch Hikers Guide (for the millonth time) and the first two books in the 'Foundation' series.

I became an Asimov fan as soon as I started reading 'Foundation', when I get some time I want to re-read the two books I have and find a copy of the third (Second Foundation). So they'd be my recommendations Smile

Slaughterhouse 5 - Kurt Vonnegut.

Its about....the bombing of Dresden in WW2, time travel, aliens, optometry, reality perception, philosophy, and about a million other things. And its a tiny book, only about 250 pages, but i've seen study guides for it that were 800 pages.

In short, its a readable masterpiece.
