Another warranty question....

Never having had a new(ish) bike before, i'm uncertain about keeping up the warranty.
It's a K5 Gixer 750, and according to the book it's due a service (5K miles)
Do i have to take it to a Suzuki dealer for servicing in order to keep up the warranty?
My local Suzuki dealer seems to be staffed by Neanderthals and monkeys, and i don't trust them to do even a minor service (according to a mate who is an authorised Suzuki mechanic it's just an inspection and an oil change - unfortunately he lives miles away so i can't get him to do it)
Can i take it to a local bike place who i trust, but aren't authorised Suzuki technicians and still maintain the warranty?

Yes, you can take it to a non-suzuki garage and they still have to honour the warranty.
