 |
|
I've had 3 punctures this year, and used tyre plug kits to fix them, and get me back on my way.
I've now got a touratch compressor in the FJR, and it's saved me a load of hassle when fixing punctures. I can have the complete thing down to about 10 - 15 mins from stopping to getting going again.
Question is, tho.. the kits contain a T-bar insertor, 3 plugs, a small tube of goo, a razor blade, some chalk, a couple of CO2 cans, and a valve adaptor.
As a result, I now have several T-bars, CO2 cans and valve adaptors I don't use, and as much chalk as a school.
Where can I get JUST the plugs and the goo.. I don't like paying £20 for a kit where most of the stuff goes in the bin?

nope.. Plugs are tried, and tested as far as I'm concerned, and you KNOW you have a Puncture. Blowouts are incredibly rare, on modern multi-steel belted radial tyres, so you can tell in plenty of time that you've got a puncture. I got mine at about 80mph yesterday.
Then you plug it, you inflate it, and you ride carefully for a bit before you can be sure it's holding properly. After that, I ride the bike normally, till the tyre is worn out.
With slime, and similar goos, how do you know you've had a puncture? how many punctures does your tyre actually have?
not to mention the mess it makes when they replace your tyres.
I'll stick with plugs. ta very much
