G i know where your comming from but of course it would be 33bhp for a little while and tbh i dont care about the price on insurance the reason i dont want a smaller bike is because i get very bored very fast and i want one to last a few years and a 600 is cheaper then a 400 to buy ____________________ bye bye gti <^>( ' . I would get a cheap crappy 125, ride it for a couple of months and when you feel ready sell it for near enough what you bought it for and then go for the 600! |

If you get bored fast, if anything I'd suggest that you go up in smaller steps.
I went from 45hp or so to 100hp and didn't stay interested very long. Up again to 143 and it didn't excite me at all really.
Small steps means you have more time to explore what the bike can do etc and at least get a little time of 'wow this is fast' for each bike - rather than just for one bike.
Also, if you're the type to use the power, then I'd most definitely reccomend starting smaller.
A 600 is cheaper than a 400 to buy? You talking a pretty old 600 - most will definitely be a fair bit more to insure.
What's your budget? |

When I was 20 I got myself a 125, and rode it for a few months until I felt comfortable on a bike. Come 21, I did my DAS and got on an R6. I think it's sensible to do a few miles on a 125 first, to get your 'bike legs'! |

I wouldn't bother getting a sports 600 - they run like shit when restricted.
You'd probably get very bored of a 125 very quickly.
Bike I'd go for is a Bros 400 (Honda). 33bhp on the nose, bullet-proof, 100ish top whack, really nice looking, particularly with twin spots, ickle indicators, belly pan, sports pipe, etc. and no fairing so when it invariably gets dropped, the repair bills won't be too expensive. And they cost next to nothing to buy now - don't worry about high mileage, as said, they're pretty much bullet proof. |
