Yes. Have you got any more stupid questions or have you used up your supply?

What does an MV have that any other modern litre bike doesn't?

Its not a style it's a bade. It's the brand name that costs you money.

Single sided swinging arm. Radial 4 valve combustion chamber. 49mm forks. Frame designed without regard to being cheaply cast. Etc.

All the best

And which of these makes the bike any better than the japs?

Pretty much all of them in a small way.

Whether the improvement is worth the money is only something that a purchaser can decide.

All the best

Its the 'exoticness' that counts. Go to a race meet, 50% GSXR, 35% YZF, 10% CBR, 3.8% random Jap, 1% Ducati, 0.1% obscure brit and finally, 0.1% exotic*.

I would say in the main that its the whole owning something different and expensive part that make most of the sales, same reason I'd buy a Bimota.

*totally made up random crap.**

**except the bit about GSXR, especially if they are blue/white.

None of the above. It's the clever marketing and techno babble that makes them better than the japs, people always like to think they have something a bit special, exclusive.

Nope. Radial 4 valve combustion chamber is rather better, just rather more difficult and expensive to make. The bigger forks are an improvement. Not having to worry about making a cheap casting to turn out frames in bulk allows more freedom to keep things tight.

Single sided swinging arm. Thats just styling. Although why they screwed up the styling with the hideous headlight I am not sure.

All the best

The frame is better, the suspension is miles better, the brakes are better, each of these improves the bike in it's own way, as a package they add up to a whole lot more that the jap bikes. And of course the design is distinctive and unusual. Personally I wouldn't pay that much extra for these improvements, but many would.

Like I said 'Better' is subjective! Designs have inherent compromises, it is a case of 'give on one hand, take on the other' 'A gain in one area for a loss in another' Thumbs Up

My point is that with those areas (other than the swinging arm) they have not compromised performance in exchange for cheaper production.

All the best

A friend of mine is an MV dealer, so I could say yes, I know someone that owns one, but infact he owns 4 at the moment Very Happy

In all honesty, he thinks that the Tornado is a better bike on the road as it's a bit less sensative to the road surface.

isnt the mv engine just a tarted up k2 gsxr 1000 engine?
guy at work has an f4 and it looks nice and sounds good.
but on the road its down on performance on a k5 gsxr and a lightly modded 05 r1.
pehaps with better riders and a good track the mv might show some class.
but with normal people its just expensive
