Yesterday my clutch cable broke off (near the handle), so i've dismounted the entire cable and got it repaired, after placing it back as it was, and checking it, it came up that the clutch is not working at all. My bike is on it's rear stand and the tyre is not moving with the clutch handle pressed. The problem was not with the clutch cable because i've tried pressing the pin with my hand and it wasn't working either. I've removed the cover but couldn't find anything suspicious, everything seems ok...

anyone here has idea what might be the problem?

All gueses really, but some stuff to think about...

Is there no resistance when you pull the lever and push by hand?

When you put the cover back on, did you check the placement of the actuating rod*? Sometimes this has to be done quite precisely, though obviously you hadn't had the engine open initially.

It could be that you've turned the rod 360 degrees and it's lost it's placing.

Haven't done an NSR clutch, but some bikes have a ball bearing between the actuator and what is being pushed on. This could possibly have come out; unlikely situation.

*The part the clutch cable attaches to which has a rod that goes into the engine.

there is resistance, just the way it was before, everything seems normal except that it's not working.
i've reasembled it 3-4 times just to make sure that everything is on it's place...and yes it has a ball bearing, which is on it's place, so i really don't know what's wrong.

thank you anyway

Have you tried to start the bike normally in neutral then droping it into first? (Remember to hold the front brake on if you're trying it.)

My CRM clutch seemed to seize a bit when I hadn't used it for ages.
Had to drop it into first with qutie a few revs with the front brake held on to get it to release.

However since using it properly; it's been fine.

actually i didn't...i was replacing the air filter so i had removed the tank too, i'll try that first thing in the morning, i've found another thread in which someone wrote that his gearbox got fixed simply after trying to ride the bike...i hope the same will happen with my nsr Wink
