Would that be a Thatcham approved alarm certificate?

The shop who fitted it or possibly the alarm manufacture will have copies of the certificate. Or the previous owners insurance company might have a copy of it.

I had a Datatool System 3 fitted and informed the insurance company (Carole Nash) about it when I arranged insurance before my bike arrived.

Rang them yesterday to double check I was getting a discount for the alarm and they never even mentioned the fact that they hadn't had their copy of the document stating the alarm has been fitted. I still have it with my copy.

I'm guessing if I ever needed to claim, they'd be pretty keen on seeing the document (especially if the bike was stolen), but seems at the moment they're happy to take my word for it.

Not sure all insurance companies would be the same, though.

Hubby had the same problem with his insurance, in the end he took the bike to a garage and they wrote a letter saying what alarm was fitted and his insurance company accepted that as proof, worth phoning your insurance company and seeing if they would accept one too Very Happy
