ER-6f ABS Help please

Right my GPZ 500s is ten years old and whilst it has only done 16.5 K I'm thinking of P/Exing it for a black one of these. So some questions.

I have a bad back following a bad spill about 15 years ago so is the riding position radically different ? Yeah I will go and take a test ride but I value your input.

Kawasaki direct seem very cheap but what are their PX offers like ( I assume the margin has to come from somewhere).

Incidentally I hated this when I first saw the naked version but the F has really grown on me.

Oh and fuel consumption.

The naked ER6 N and faired F both have the same upright riding position so will be very relaxed to ride. If anything it will be more relaxed than the Geeperz as they have high clip-ons instead of a handlebar. (I used to own one myself )

Of all the road type bikes only the Suzuki SV650 has a different riding position between it's two versions with the faired having a full on sports riding position. The faired ER-6 is essentially a naked bike with the faring wrapped around it.

PX values depend upon the individual dealer franchise and have nothing to do with kawasaki themselves. It's up to the garage how much they think your bike is worth. Before accepting any offers check how much you could get private. Biketrader is as good a place as any to see what current market value is. You might get more selling it yourself, just obviously it might not be as quick this time of the year (market slows down in winter) as handing it over to the dealer.

Fuel consumption will be good. The ER-6 is aimed at all round ease of use rather than outright power so fuel will not be sucked though at an alarming rate to gain every last possible Hp. Expect around 45+mpg. Insurance will also be cheap.

I've got me an ER6n in black with ABS. And silly me, I discovered a love for touring after having bought a naked bike!

I will say that the market for naked bikes is growing so you may find that depreciation on the 'n' is lower.

However, one piece of advice is: get the ABS. It will save you behind on a rainy day when you least expect it!

Oh, and get the crash bungs, coz they'll save you a dented tank.

I must admit I love the look of both the naked and faired, except for the headlamp. Nearly bought one, but decided to save cash and got a hornet. They are pretty snazzy tho, really modern looking.

Hi,

I would suggest you think long & hard before trading in your GPZ though. I just sold mine this week in a private sale - it sold within one day of advertising it on Biketrader. If you price it reasonably it will sell quickly and easily and you will get more than you would by trading it in.

Sorry, bit of a newbie question (i love the er-6 too!).
Can a ER-6f be turned into a ER-6n by removing the fairings?

Hope you dont mind me asking in here save creating a new thread and cluttering the forum with what probably is a silly question

Go buy a Z750, they have been discontinued for 2007 so are now something of a limited edition and a crackin bike, they are knockin about cheap at the moment so grab one before the used market goes up.
