I own a suzuki TS50x which used to run fine but now the bike will not tick over. You can make the bike run by holding the throttle in a certain position but the bike will slowly die and cut out. CAN ANYONE HELP ME ?

Could be anything, but, as always, try a new spark plug in it first.

im sure some one can help you Very Happy

the basics first,
1. change the plug.
2. check the filter (make sure you have one in and its in good condition)
3. make sure there are no leaks, on the exhaust headers, between the air box and carb and between the carb and the engine,
4. gas, make sure your gas is fresh
5. carbs, take them off and clean out the float bowl, and make sure you are getting fuel to them.
6. feul lines and petcock, make sure there is no blockages and that your petcock is working correctly.
7. vacume hose. check its connected.
8. open your fuel tank and see if it runns better like that,(mabee a blockage in your tank breather)
9. make sure you have a nice bright blue spark. (pull the spark plug out and rest it on the side of the engine and kick it over and watch the plug) if you don't then its probly your coil)
10. after all that, then its exhaust system id blocked up with coke and needs to be cleaned out, you need to do this every 5k miles any way (around that figure)

thats all for now, try one thing at a time and try and start it.
if its still not going after that then..... we'll try a few more things:D
good luck :d
