where do all the bikes go?

when it gets dark and wet? felt all alone on the way home out of london tonight......only saw two proper bikes in 12 miles, yet in the summer my route is like a grand prix grid at every set of lights

is it the same place all the fit birds go to when it gets cold and wet in london? if so, someone please tell me where it is......

Still a fair few riding about over here, will keep going until it gets too cold and dangerous then they both will be kept locked up in their snug little shed and only allowed out on the occasional crisp sunny winters day. Rode all last winter but not gonna risk it this year, if I dropped my bike I would never forgive myself, I would be gutted.

Mines going away this year, may invest in a nice clapped out cage.

But for the moment, its not that bad, just a little rainy and windy, and have to ajust my riding to suit the wet leaves. But untill the first salt of the year hits the road im carrying on.

mines going to be out all winter, I think since I got the nsr, the only days I havent run it are when I was in spain, and when the engine siezed, apart from that I use it every day, I need it to get anywhere.

I'm just going to use the same route every day, and learn the hazardous areas, and take it easy. Hopefully this year I wont fall off

Even ice isn't that big a deal so long as it isn't so widespread that you can't avoid it. My biggest problem is that it takes far more concentration than normal, when you're heading home exhausted after a bunch of overtime, it's difficult to be nearly as safe as normal.

Still, until I have a choice and feel like queueing in traffic, I'll be on the bike. The length of time it takes to get all my kit together might well negate most of the time I save by filtering anyway.

NCRN, do you de-restrict an NSR similar to an NS125?

i also avoid the white road markings in this weather, but also sleet when the time comes.

mine has had some of its winter prep done, only got the heated grips and some spot lights to be put on.

Heated grips because I like to be able to feel the controls, and lights becuase I like to see where I am going along the country roads.

Not sure about the bikes, but the fit women are either put into storage over the winter or go cunningly disguised as jumper wearing frumpers to put guys noses out during the cold season as we say 'where are all the fit women gone'...there is definately the opposite effect to the 'start of summer'...of course, from the gals point of view I'm sure its the same as all the fit guys are cunningly disguised as cardigan wearing, pipe smoking monkies...

Only time I don't go out is when there's ice (or snow, ugh) on the road.

Rain and sleet is cack, but if you got to go, you got to go.

Mind you I recently sorted out a "clapped out cage" for a bit lately, but only to take my cat to work and back, cos he's still a bit little for the back of the bike, LOL.

I'll be out and about as usual come rain, sun, sleet or snow.

Last Christmas I was riding home from my parents' house and was doing fine until I arrived at home to find an inch or two of snow all over my road...

Not a big problem - engage off-road skills and made it to the house no bother. Couldn't get the 'bike up the ramp on to the drive though - the back wheel just spun round on the snow

Come to think of it, I ride more in the winter than in the summer. Nothing beats a brisk ride on a cold, crisp winter day with dry roads (Although washing the salt off is a pain )

I end up riding in all weather, all season. (though i do need to go hunting for my waterproof leggings.

Working outside doesn't help too much. But atleast when i get cold on the bike, i stay cold all day, so don't need to worry about the ride home

Just gotta fix my headlight, and my first break overhaul is today.
