My Exhaust to a different model/make Confused

Basically, Its just way to loud (I know noise is good, but just not on this)
I had Baffles changed ect ect and when I enquired the seller he said 'its ment to be loud'

Fair enough. Anyhow, because the original was lost, a make shift one was added. With GunGum to keep it sealed (My pic might explain better. the black is the GunGum.
So, because of the GunGum could I go buy another exhaust (in the pic) and use the can so I can have a sweeter sound? Or will it just completly fook up the whole thing.

You could get hold of the standard exhaust system. Try ebay etc.

Its a Cagiva supercity 94 and ive found nothing for it, hence why I want to change it if I can.

Ah...might be a bit harder to get a pipe then..sorry wasn't sure what bike it was for. If it runs ok i might be tempted to leave it - there isn't an easy answer other than putting the original pipe back on. You'll just have to buy some earplugs. Thumbs Up

I see what your saying, but what I ment was, to use the pipe where the arrow is, saw it off and just slip it into the gungum to make a connection with the main pipe on the bike.
Surely this must work :S

It probably would work, but it's a bodge and I suspect it wouldn't last very long. Your better bet is to see if you can have a pipe welded onto the can, which will then allow you to 'slip' it over the old system and clamp it up.

You could get it welded on but that one looks like an arrow exhaust and
it might be just as loud.

. Each to their own. I'm wondering if you can get a standard or BS approved silencer off something else that might fit onto your existing chamber.

okies wield is a good option. So, what 125 exhaust are nice and sweet sounding or reasonble? I dont want one that sounds like a million bees are heading down the road Rolling Eyes

That's the million dollar question..in my experince all two stroke singles sound like a swarm of bees Very Happy

...just down to how offensive that said sound is. Possibly a DEP or simillar off a DT maybe....

I'd have to say that if you took my bike out for a blast you wouldn't have that problem any longer. when you got back on yours you would probably think, ahh this is nice.
And believe me my bike is totally road legal but it sounds like a rocket.

Ive been told its not a 'nice' sound lol.
Im looking at an exhaust, seller tells me its 96DB... I have no idea with sound? That quiet enough?
Saw an old Yamaha 125 while i was away, and that sounded good. Just cant member the bike Rolling Eyes

96 decibels rated at what distance from the pipe, and where in the revrange? I have a 2 stroke generator rated at 65 decibels, when measured 7 meters from the generator. Stood right beside it it's quieter than my Mito125...

You can pick up a cheap decibel meter from Maplins for about £29. Find out at what distance this 96dB was measured at, stand same distance from your bike, get someone to rev it and measure...

Avg indoor rock concert PA rig is 120dB for safetyreasons...

marci there is a standard exhaust loudness measuring procedure which specifically states what revs and what position from the exhaust the decibel metre should be placed
