Windy and raining but ace! Consisted of

M62, M6 over thellwall, M56 past airport, M60

Ok all motorway but I enjoyed it. I realise now that I need ear plugs or i will be deaf soon.

Only in work for an hour and a bit then i am off home so should have a nice ride home (in the rain lol)

Hosing it down rinses away the salt and other impurities collected off the road , this reduces
corrosion , sure water does contain impurities but it is the lesser of two evils.

Where exactly do you hose down as when i do mine i just do the exposed areas which is the wheel areas & frame then spray on some FS. Do you need to do anywhere else?

You don't need to worry too much about washing it off until they start putting salt on the roads - then you really need to do it daily.

You do need ear plugs. I didn't bother when I started riding, and now I have a permanent ringing in my ears (tinitus) which is horrible. If I can offer only one tip to a new a rider, ear plugs would be it. You don't realise your hearing's been damaged until it's too late. Crying or Very sad

Oh, and the Scottoiler FS365 Protector is good stuff - just keep it off the brakes or you'll get to work a bit quicker than you expect. Don't ask me how I know... Shocked

Very Happy

Well the ride home was OK but my god i could not see anything!! the spray was so bad and my AGV visor kept steaming up when I stopped any where. Stupid me put the gloves tucked in my jacket and half way along the m62 i thought, mmmm my arm feels wet. And well yes the water was right in there!!!!

Damn it!!!

i just bought this stick from the NEC its pink and when they rubbed it on the visor it made it anti fog it was ace. Gonna try this.

Was talking to the Scotoiler stand bloke and he said my oiler should not be drippin on too the chain but on the sprocket just above the chain. This true?

C Thumbs Up

Love me bike Twisted Evil

You can't really win with this - if the glove's outside your jacket, the water runs down your arm and in to the glove. Some jackets (e.g. Hein Gericke's "Cruise") have an inner cuff that goes inside the glove while the outer goes over the glove to help keep the water out. Unfortunately nothing's going to be 100% waterproof there Sad

Yes - the nozzle should rest against the rear sprocket so that the oil runs down the sprocket on to the chain (or rather is flung down the sprocket by centrifugal force).
