 |
|
Hi,
My dealer told me to keep it below 7500rpm for first 600 miles. Yesterday, out of boredom , was reading the manual, and that said under 4000 rpm for first 600 miles and under 6000 rpm until 1200 miles..
Any suggestions ?
Also, when am doing 70-80, the rev creeps up to 7K, even when am gently accelerating!!!
Advice...

I have a Z750.... dealer said below 4k revs until 600 mls , when they do the first oil change. Then up to 6k revs until 1000 mls, taking it progressively up the rev range thereafter.
I just about managed the first bit. But after the oil change I rode it normally..... I don't red line it anyway. Doubt I've been above 10k revs if I'm to be honest.
I have read if you rev a new engine hard, you can increase the performance, but reduce its useable life |

If you're holding the trottle steady, how does it creep up? Or does it start at 70-80 |

just back from a drive..
wow, the wind noise.. never realised empty m25 can sound so much different..
well, think i rev hard to get to 70 (i dont get to see that), and then when i look for the rev counter it's always trodding on 7k mark.. guess i hv to wait a lot if i need to reach 80 with my rev below 7K!!!!
Cheers,
